Vedio conferencing

What is video conferencing?

Video conferencing sounds so intellectual and professional kind of talk. When we hear the word conference, we often think about the term as it is used in the Church. By the way, General Conference is coming up in two weeks... Video conference is a term used to describe a group of people who are talking online using machines called computers to communicate with each other. You can sit in front of your computer in your hale, and I can talk to you from Samoa using my computer, and we can hear and see each at the same time. This is not the same as Skype and other ways which you can talk and see each other on the computer at the same time.
However Video Conferencing is different. The key word is conference, this involves more than one or two people talking on the computer using certain kinds of programs like dimdim to communicate with each other from their various homeplace. A lot of people especially big companies use this to hold meetings with their employees, and other fellow associates.

Dimdim
Dimdim is a open source meeting software that you can download from online and you can use it to hold video conferencing or meetings.

Post #2B: My thoughts about E-Learning 2.0

I enjoyed reading about E-learning as much as i did with the Technology of Teaching. I think they are very well connected with the fact that they both taught about the differences between trying to do the work on our own and doing it together as a team. Not only that, but also they both have an affect on similar ways to help improve our capability to learn, to plan, to develop, to build, and to implement an idea into something realistic. For example, the teacher and student model in the E-Learning 2.0 is quite similar or is somewhat relates to the ISD Model and all it stages.

Post #2A: My thoughts about Technology of Teaching.

I have certainly enjoyed reading through the reading materials provided for our learning and assignment. I have learn a great deal about myself and life in general from reading through this article. i reccomend this readings to anyone who wants to look in to pursuing this field.

One of the cool things i have learned for myself from reading Technology of Teaching is just that, the fact that teaching is technology. Everytime i see and hear the word technology, the only things that come to mind are computers, internet, digital cameras, vedios, TV, phones, etc. I never thought of teaching as a technology, but if you actually think about it, all those machines or devices would not function the way they are now, if it wasn't for teaching and learning, developing and implementing some source of informaiton created in them by technicians and compilers. In fact, they would have not even existed if it wasn't for the people that invented them because of the knowlegde they have received from teaching. So, in other words, no teaching, no technology.

I was taken back to the mission, when i was reading through this vital learning. I was reminded of a way of teaching that I have always used when teaching a brand new investigator. It is referred to as baby steps.

In additional, when teaching a potential member of the Chruch, it's like teaching a new born baby. You have to start from the very beginning. You have to start teaching from scratch. You have to teach and show them how, step by step, one step at a time. When a baby learns how to climb a ladder, he has to know how to move from one step to another until he or she reaches the top. We all know what would happen if trying to jump from the bottom to the top. It is not going to be good. Any baby needs a milk before any other type of food. Investigators of the Church need milk before meat.

Moreover, one more thing that came to my mind while I was pondering over this article, is the fact that unprepared and unproductive missionaries cause themselves, and other members of the Church a lot of work, time and effort to try to work with these people. This is very well related to one of the paragraphs I read in the very beginning of this reading; "ineffective trainning is costing business... hidden cost of lost opportunity. Employees who are never trained to effectively or fully utilize the technologies of their work or provide effective customer service add up to a tremendous loss in productivity."
